Yeah, Phil. I could have gone to IMDB, I suppose, but I was enjoying the chit chat...and I'm chilling' with a nice cup of jo.
Somehow I got the day/night off and I'm just enjoying a lazy day.

Re: a way to hide avatars?
OK, class... now don't make me go all "Academy" on your ass! LOL
Here is one entry of MANY listing Barrymore as Gillespie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032416/?re ... lmg_act_33
Rather than search IMDB for the character, try searching for the actor next time.
BTW, we're talking film here, not that cheap TV crap... but if we do, let's talk about Sam (Shalom) Jaffe in Ben Casey as Dr. David Zorba! What an effing brilliant actor. The opening for every segment (man, woman, birth, death, infinity) is Sam doing the VO. But he really shows his stuff in The Scarlet Empress (1934).
If you ever get a chance to see it, it is riveting. He turns in one of the best performances as a crazy person you'll ever see. Here's the full film:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x23gc7 ... shortfilms
You may notice the opening theme is pulled from Tchaikovsky's 4th Sym Op 36 #2 in F Minor: the "fate" symphony written for Mdm. von Meck, who later abandoned her substantial support for Peter Illyich when she discovered he was homosexual. But I digress...
Various section of all movements were bastardized for the film. All five of the arrangers/orchestrators/conductors were uncredited!
W. Franke Harling -music adaptor (uncredited) / music arranger (uncredited)
Bernhard Kaun - music adaptor (uncredited)
John Leipold - music adaptor (uncredited) / music arranger (uncredited)
Oscar Potoker - music adaptor (uncredited)
Milan Roder - music arranger (uncredited)
Class is dismissed. No class on Saturday night after 11pm. I have a gig. We meet again....
I do miss teaching at the U. sometimes. The master classes at CALARTS work as a temporary fix.
Back to Peter Pan. If you're near Catalina May 20 it will be well worth the effort to get there.

Where were we...? Oh yeah, Iguanas!

As I recall the O/T was about my annoying avatar, not Dizzy Gillespie.
