Patch Change keyboard shortcut?
Hi,
I used to know the 2 key command to go up and down an outboard synth's patchlist.
Can't seem to find it anymore. I checked the Command window under Sound Selection Next Patch, but can't get that going.
I might have even changed the keys by mistake but can't get back to whatever I originally had.
And a few of the combinations I tried would just change MIDI channels or the whole synths.
One even did the Mac thing of showing all windows (forget what that's called.)
Any ideas how I can get a two key command to change patches on the same synth and same MIDI channel?
Thanks.

Re: Patch Change keyboard shortcut?
On my rig, if I select a MIDI track, and then hold down CONTROL and press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW, it takes me through patches, inc/dec one at a time. Is that what you were needing?

Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's what I used to do.
I tried that this time but it no longer did it.

I wonder if DP and/or AudioMIDI Setup no longer has (or can't find) a patch list for your particular hardware.
You can look at AMS and see if it has that device specifically connected-- I can't remember if AMS handles patchlists for DP or if DP has to host its own patchlists.
Might need to R the F M.

Re: Patch Change keyboard shortcut?
All my synths have their patch lists. The problem is that I'm trying to audition sounds fast by just picking the first in the list then quickly going through them all using just the keyboard shortcut.
Without it I have to play the sound, open the patchlist, select the next sound, etc...

Re: Patch Change keyboard shortcut?
Ok. Hmmm. The next thing might be to see if maybe the Mac OS is prioritizing the same key combo.
In DP, go to the COMMANDS window and search for either "next patch" or "previous patch" and see what that key combo is.
Then go to System Preferences / keyboard and open the shortcuts tab. Go through and see if any of the OS things are taking over that key combo.
You can always try assigning another key combo. Not sure what others might be available, but you can try some things like CONTROL-OPTION-SHIFT PAGE-UP/DOWN

Re: Patch Change keyboard shortcut?
That did it! It was the Mac's shortcut overriding DP.
Thanks.
