Re: importing OMF or AAF trouble
I wonder if he has some kind of an option set in his export. Are the files coming in as wav or aiff or ??? I'd try re-exporting an audio file (or all of them if you have a batch convertor) to match your project. It could be a header thing. Also, before he sends you the file, I'd also zip it/them (and the AFF) before copying to another disc.

Haven't had to worry about it own a long time, but I used Audio Finder. The page says it still does batch processing but I couldn't see the feature in the current version. I', sure it's there somewhere and I think they have a free trial version.

Re: importing OMF or AAF trouble
Many posts about this. I have had problems for years with trying to import AAF or OMF files in DP. The file starts to open and then it crashes. I see the tracks but it never gets past that.

Re: importing OMF or AAF trouble
Been a while since I tried it, but what worked for me in the past was importing the OMF into ProTools, and then exporting from PT. For whatever reason DP could open OMFs from PT, but not FC.

Re: importing OMF or AAF trouble
As I've posted re Premiere OMF imports to DP...
1. Don't have the audio embedded (it should be in a separate folder to the OMF)
2. Open your DP template
3. Drag the OMF onto the chunks window (wait a minute)
4. Drag all audio from the Final cut audio folder into the DP audio folder and
5. Wait a few moments for all the waveforms to draw
6. Voila!
Optional 7. I copy the audio from the OMF chunk to a clipping and then drag it back into my template chunk with buses already laid out
