Dear Motunation,
I'm having trouble adding a sequence without an instant crash. This problem is not related to a specific file. Newly created project or older ones have the same problem.
Is there any reports on this issue? I search the forum with no success.

Thanks

Re: Crash when change or add a sequence
Do you have a V-Rack with some VIs in it? Do you have any sequences that currently use VIs?
I can't guarantee you anything, but this sounds a lot like a corrupted VI in a V-Rack. This happened to me a few times about 8 years ago. What fixed it finally was rebuilding my V-Rack from scratch. One of the VIs had gone bad. When I rebuilt it, everything resumed working fine. However, it seemed to have left some residual corruption in one of the tracks that used that VI. I eventually had to copy the data and paste it into a new sequence, also made from scratch. (not duplicated or cloned)
I'm guessing there are several ways to get a corruption of that nature in a file, so it may not require a VI to do it. If you are using a template or cloning a sequence, or copying a track layout, try starting over from scratch and build an entire track layout, piece at a time, VIs and all.
You may also try reinstalling DP. If those things fail, I say you'd probably do best to call MOTU.

Re: Crash when change or add a sequence
Thank you Shooshie
Yes, I did try from scratch. I also tried to load sequences into a new project, which are loaded properly, but as soon as I try to change to an other sequence, it crash.
IT's weird because I did manage to make a sequence in my project 2 days ago. I did have some crashes, but I was able to create one. Now, it crashes each time, and as I said, even from new project from or any basic template.
I will call Motu, and post an answer or a workaround.
Thanks

Re: Crash when change or add a sequence
Ok, I've just found a workaround.
The problems occur only if you choose to make a new sequence from the top right side sub menu of the sequence window.
If I create or recall a sequence from the Transport sequence sub Menu, It then works fine...

Re: Crash when change or add a sequence
How about creating your new sequences in the Chunks Window?
I tried using that menu, and it crashed on me, too. In the almost 30 years I've been using DP, I've never used that menu for that purpose, ever. I guess nobody else does, either, and that's why the bug has very likely been sitting there all this time, undiscovered until LouisDuFort discovered it for us!
Thank you for the report, my friend. We have yet another bug to report. I already sent in a crash report with instructions on how to replicate it.
