saving problem???

Post by digidan »

I am not sure if this is a osx thing or a dp thing but I will put it out there for you mac guru's to look at. I have just finished a clean install of 10.3.9 with dp 4.6 on a partition of my main drive. This partition used to be the home of os9. Since I never use os9 anymore it made sense to keep my old 10.3.5 alone being that it works good and "test out" all my new software before making a final commitment. Anyway, after the install I noticed that my newly created projects do not save. At least anywhere I can find them. I will create a folder on a drive, open dp, add some audio etc... and save it. when I return to the folder I created, It will be completely empty. no project file , audio files, just like it was when first created. Am I missing something here????

What's the save path shown in the Audio Monitor window?
Where are the files located as shown in the Sound Bytes window?

I will check that. I dont know that it would matter though. Even if my audio files were going to a different location, the project file would still save in the folder I choose right???

I should never speak until I drink at least one cup of coffee........
I didn't grasp the actual problem on the first blurry eyed read.
Still, I have no other ideas. The paths shown in the project may shed some light or not. I'm interested in how this turns out. It's an odd one.

How did this turn out? This happened after a tape dump we did using the same set up in Tiger... any thoughts?

The strange thing I saw, was that after a spotlight search, we couldn't find the files but noticed that the drive space was decreased immensely - so audio files were definitely created somewhere!
