On/off click automation in the conductor track
Hello,
I cannot remember how to program a "OFF" or "MUTE" event in the Conductor track for the metronome to stop playing at a time while recording.
I did that a long time ago but I don't find out how I did it…
Thanks for any help
Best regards
Christophe

There's probably an easier way to do this, but here are two:
Record an audio or MIDI click to stop where you want.
Or, send the click to a particular bus, then bring that bus into an aux track and mute the aux track.
I'm sure others will pop in with much more easy methods.

Thanks Jon, yes of course, I know it's a possibility. But there's a way to do that in the Conductor track. I already did that a long time ago, but I cannot find how I did…

In the conductor event list, you can add an event called "click change", then choose "click Tacet" as one of the click types.

Yes ! Thanks Jon, that works !
But unfortunately, after created Tacet events in the event list, I can't see and manage them inside the Conductor track. Unless I'm missing something…?
Thanks

Looks like I can see the event in the TO, but only if there's nothing else in it (like a tempo change). And I can always see them in the event list, but can't see them at all in the Conductor's graphic editor unless I select it in the TO (then it will show as a selected item at the top of the window).
Perhaps MOTU hasn't been especially robust about keeping that particular feature fully functional in all windows.

I always have my click bussed to a fader… makes it a snap to adjust level on the fly, not to mention automate if you desire. Also, you can use sends to send different click levels to various monitor mixes.

Re: On/off click automation in the conductor track
Okay, I need to jump in here as I'm having trouble figuring out "tacet click":
I figured how to get to "tacet click", I add it at the spot where I want to silence click. Shows the little metronome where I inserted "tacet click". Go back to the top expecting to hear click on & click off where my "tacet click" icon is. NO CLICK, PERIOD.
What am I missing?
Thankew in advance.

Re: On/off click automation in the conductor track
It's possible this feature isn't used much, so if there are bugs, they might be unreported.
I can think of a couple things you can try. Make sure that the tempo mode is set to conductor track (and not the tempo slider). Try adding a click event at the beginning of the sequence that just enables the click. Perhaps it needs another event to turn it back on?

Re: On/off click automation in the conductor track
Finaly, I've made the choice to add an aux track for the click, because I've tried the tacet function, and I also got bugs so it's not reliable enough.
Thanks to all for your help.

Could you please tell me how you're getting click into an aux track? Are you turning it on/off with automation?

Re: On/off click automation in the conductor track
Set up Aux Track with a spare mono bus as input (I labeled a bus "Click" in Bundles window)
In Click Preferences (double click the metronome icon), set output of audio click to that bus.
