Of course, it's all guessing until the Instruments seminar/demo tomorrow for sure, but the fact they're using a little .jpg of Machfive makes me think it's not dead. So no Camel Audio Alchemy scenario which is cool. At the very least Falcon gives non DP users an option, and even though I like Falcon I would be happy to see MachFive in DP for sure.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:With all the talk about Falcon, wouldn't it be great if instead of hanging on to the UVI thing, MOTU revamped M5 completely AND included the new version in DP? I do use the standalone version as well at times but I suppose that would go away under that scenario.
A boy can dream... can't he?

Maybe MachFIVE will be half of DP TEN? The math sort of works.

Nobody at NAMM this year? DP9 Deep Dive seminar is going on right now, and I'm sick with curiosity?

Re: Machfive 4 this year?
I asked UVI if they still develope software for MOTU and if there will be an update for MAchFive. I received this answer from UVI:
We no longer develop for other companies. I would suggest you contact Motu for further information as I cannot speak for them
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
All the best from UVI,
Support Team
Ofcourse I didn't get any reaction at all from MOTU (no suprise, as always) as I asked them the same question...

Re: Machfive 4 this year?
No mention of Mach5 during the Deep Dive (9.02) session with Matt Lupont today. I didn't stay for his DP instruments talk. The efficiency improvements are not arriving in rev 9.02, but in a later update.Michael Canavan wrote:Nobody at NAMM this year? Did you get a sense as to what the efficiency updates meant...a 9.xx update or a DPX update?

Still not understanding what LUF is as nothing on the page linked to seems to explain it.Michael Canavan wrote:Internet help me with LUF...Basstrup wrote:Michael Canavan wrote:Nobody at NAMM this year? DP9 Deep Dive seminar is going on right now, and I'm sick with curiosity?

Update in tech world generally means a non paid release, upgrade is the commonly used term when you can expect to be charged for the next version.Martini Hill wrote:Did you get a sense as to what the efficiency updates meant...a 9.xx update or a DPX update?

I did get charged once $25 for an update to Logic 7, as it was sent out on DVD only...

Thanks for the explanation. Have been to Luxembourg on business back in the late 80's - nice country with some great food and people.bayswater wrote:MOTU has move to Luxembourg. Re: Machfive 4 this year?
Thanx Mike. I should have clarified. It almost sounded as if it was part of a DP 10 upgrade. Either or, these improvements are very exciting!Michael Canavan wrote:Update in tech world generally means a non paid release, upgrade is the commonly used term when you can expect to be charged for the next version.Martini Hill wrote:Did you get a sense as to what the efficiency updates meant...a 9.xx update or a DPX update?

Re: Machfive 4 this year?
You were clear, you must have missed that MOTU have consistently called this an update, indicating that it's not going to be a paid upgrade to a new version. That's what I was trying to explain.Martini Hill wrote: Thanx Mike. I should have clarified. It almost sounded as if it was part of a DP 10 upgrade. Either or, these improvements are very exciting!

LUFS are Loudness Units relative to Full Scale - is a loudness standard designed to enable normalization of audio levels for delivery of broadcast TV and videomusicman691 wrote: Still not understanding what LUF is as nothing on the page linked to seems to explain it.
