DP9 now shipping.

Has DP9 shown in anybody's registered products in their account yet? According to an email I got from Magic Dave he said to check back in 24 hours. But you know sometimes things work out faster than expected.

Looking now, my DP8 update was never added to "My Registrations"! Which I got from the swedish distributor. Can't remember, but I think I emailed MOTU about it at the time. I hope I still have the reciept!

Sure. For example, I load an instance of Kontakt with 5 MIDI channels, and then want to change the MIDI channel of any of those 5 channels, say MIDI channel 5 to channel 10, there is no response, no pull down menu at all.

So you have 5 MIDI tracks in DP pointing to an instance of Kontakt with five instrument loaded in, each with it's own MIDI channel. You can't change the sending MIDI channel in DP, or the receiving MIDI channel in Kontakt?

Functionally ok with everything I've tried BUT personally, I hate the dark buttons with black text used in all the dialog windows. At least with the theme I have been using (Savannah). Why did they change an existing theme? In DP8 they are light grey with with black text -- much easier to read.
Guess I'll have to learn how to edit that.

Maybe because it makes it easier to see that a dialog box is inactive (e.g. if nothing has been selected for edit). The greyed out text in the action boxes looks inactive when it is against the slightly lighter grey of the background. But as you say, it ought to be easy to find and edit the background images to a light shade.

But wait... are MIDI CC lanes only available in the Sequence window? Not in the MIDI window? This can't be. Ok, calm down. Read manual...

It was confirmed to me that the MIDI CC lanes are ONLY in the Sequence Window, not the MIDI Window, which is a massive disappointment. That said, apparently there is now a way to use key commands to switch between MIDI Controllers in the MIDI Window. Not as good, but a minor consolation.

Still easy to tell, but everything is harder to read.
I know I can go in a edit all those (as my wife would say) wiggle digits, but I'd rather be making music.

I just bought my upgrade and received the confirmation and it's immediately showing up with the new activation code in My Registrations.

Many, but not all. In fact there are some that use a dark background color, but not nearly as dark as this one.

I renamed the theme bundle, restore the original from time machine, edit the plist to include version 9. Both versions use the dark background. Mmm, hardcoded?

Got it. Apparently, if certain files (.png) are missing, DP9 uses a default different from DP8.

I was going to order from Sweetwater by clicking through the link. I am not seeing the boxed option, however. I have emailed them to see if it's available.

I talked to "my" salesman at sweetwater and he says

"I will have MOTU ship you a DVD and a physical manual after you order. That is no problem."

Even if it's an extra charge, I'll buy through them in order to support the forum.

OK! Upgraded & installed,so far the jump to DP9 seems to be incredibly smooth and painless.
Congratulations to MOTU, DP9 looks like a great version! btw this doesn't feel like a .0 release
It might be trivial but I also love the new DP9 icon it has a great look and nice colors.

It sure doesn't. I'm recording a new project that I started on 8.07 and I just installed 9 on my desktop and laptop and I'm going back and forth between the two seamlessly and with no noticeable detriments from the switch.
