Problem with Digital Performer 8 after Yosemite Update
I recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite 10.10.3. Today I opened DP8 for the first time since the update and immediately noticed a pretty crucial bug: the playback head doesn't move from the position I start playback from... unless I am holding down one of the top menus (i.e. Digital Performer, file, edit, region etc). If I am doing this, the play head tracks! Playback itself occurs either way. Similarly, in the mixing board window the amplitude animation on the faders and other animations on effects will only occur if click and am holding on one of the faders. Very strange. And almost unusable! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Problem with Digital Performer 8 after Yosemite Update
What version of DP 8 are you using? DP 8.07? I know you won't like hearing this, but this isn't something I've heard of before. I'm using DP 8.07 on 10.10.3 and so are a lot of users and nobody's reported something like that. Have you tried contacting MOTU tech support?
You might check your prefs and toggle the options for Autoscroll and see if that brings it back. Also, go find the actual DP 8 app in the Finder, do a "Get Info" and make sure the box next to "Prevent App nap" is checked. That may not do anything, but it's a good idea.
Also... you don't have your system specs listed in your signature (maybe you're using Taptalk and yo can't see the sigs), but it helps to know more about the machine you're running DP on. What model? How much RAM? I'm not sure if that's something that's happening because you're putting a heavy load on DP and it's shifting priority to playback and away from updating graphics?

Re: Problem with Digital Performer 8 after Yosemite Update
This has happened to others. The usual fix is to
a) Reinstall the latest version of DP 8 (there is no uninstaller – just reinstall)
b) Repair Permissions in Apple's Disk Utility. If you didn't do this after the Yosemite install, it will take awhile. That's ok.
c) Reboot.
d) See if you still have a problem.

I'm sure it must have at some time or another. But a search doesn't reveal it as "common"..mikehalloran wrote:This has happened to others.
