Trashing Preferences

Post by tonyton »

I can't remember where to find DPs preferences so that I can trash them. Following a crash, DP is reluctant to launch and when it eventually does I'm unable to open files. Can anyone help?

Thanks

First, have you tried opening lots of old files? Or is it just the file you were working on when it crashed?

The preferences are located in the user library. If you have trouble finding that library (they made it invisible in Yosemite and Mavericks), use the "GO" menu in the Finder. Hold down the OPTION key to add "Library" to the list. Once there, the address is:
  • User/Library/Preferences/com.motu.DigitalPerformer
Rather than trashing them, try dragging them to the desktop so that you can put them back intact if that doesn't help. Setting up prefs in DP can take a while!

Thanks. Yes, that's good advice about keeping the prefs on the desktop. There were 2 files in question - 1 that I was working on when it crashed and another that I've been working on earlier today.
