DP & M-Audio O2

Post by snicka »

I am running 4.6.1 on 10.4.3. The O2 shows up fine in Audio MIDI Setup and works with Reason, but the input for the O2 does not show up in DP.

Has anyone had any luck getting DP and the O2 to work?

I'm running that exact setup on my laptop, and it's working fine.

Did you do anything special to set it up?

All I did was plug it in and made sure it showed up in AMS.

Nope.

But why would it show up there?

Does it show up if you enable Multi-record?

if it DOESN'T show up there, you can't set buffers, etc for it...?

Isn't that only for audio interfaces?

Why would a MIDI controller need buffer settings?

I have had other MIDI controllers and none of them have ever shown up in Configure Audio System.

snicka ...

you'r right, it dosen't have anything to do with configure audio system/hardware driver, that is only for audio interfaces.

Does it show up in Audio MIDI Setup -> MIDI Devices?

hmmm... Does it show up in the MIDI Monitor window and show activity? It should at least be grayed out there if it's in AMS.

Also, are you using USB or MIDI cable, and have you tried the other if the O2 has that option? I know that with my PCR controller, USB was not very dependable, but running it MIDI is very solid. OTOH, my M-Audio Trigger Finger runs USB and there's no problem whatsoever. Keep us posted.

It does show up in the MIDI Monitor and I do get activity.

I am using USB and would prefer it that way. I am sending the MIDI cable out to another interface.
