Slate Plugs Crashing DP Upon Opening

Anyone else having this happen with recent updates for VCC, VBC, or VTM?
Only work-around for me so far: If I reboot 'puter and repair permissions and keep trying (3 or 4 times); DP will finally open, then I remove the Slate plugs from channel inserts and then re-insert plugs—everything's cool and stays that way next time I open project. Unfortunately, I lose the settings on the plugs which gets messy when I have a lot of instances. Kevin at Slate told me they don't test on DP. I took that info politely and said "Thanks, it's OK—I'll get some help at MOTUNATION."

I'd find the preferences and settings for the plug and trash them.

I don't know it'll work but it sure sounds like a bad preference if it's ok until quitting.

Thanks MLC, the preferences were not the issue, according to Paul at Slate support. He advised the manual un-install / install with the extra steps listed here—seems to have cleared things up! The issue was not with VCC. Italics mine.

Remove Virtual Buss Compressors and Virtual Tape Machines from the following plugin paths:

HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components/
HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST/Slate Digital
HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST3/Slate Digital
HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plugins/Slate Digital
HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plugins/Slate Digital

Delete Settings File:
HD/Library/Application Support/Slate Digital/

Repair Disk Permissions

Restart your computer.

Install latest plugin builds (Get 'em from the Slate website):

VBC 1.2.5.9 Mac Installer

VTM 1.1.8.20 Mac Installer

Please ensure permissions are set to "read and write" for the following location:

HD/Library/Application Support/Slate Digital

Be sure to "apply changes to enclosed items in pull down menu at bottom. (Unlock, first!)

Next, delete the AU Cache file found in User/Library/Caches. (I couldn't locate this, folks—yes, I did the Option tab under the Go pull down—but didn't matter.)
