Can anyone recommend a good SATA PCI card for a Dual 2.3GHz G5 and an external drive bay for up to 4 SATA drives?
Thanks.
SATA card & external drive bay recommendations

I bought this kit with two extra sleds from OWC and installed it in a G5 OS 10.4 server:

It's hot swappable and doesn't need any software. The included host PCI card handles the software side. So far it's worked great.

Depending on how mechanically inclined or technically incline you are - What about some old Glyph drives. Just convert them over to sata. I've done it with 2 single space glyph drives (holding 2 drives each), 1 - 2 space with DVD burner on one side and 1 drive on the other, and I also have one trip with 4 removable bays. All the chassis were bought online through eBay and you can get removable drives by doing a search online, I usually by mine from cremax.com. And all the cables are bought from macgurus.com. Everything is straight forward and pretty much all parts are universal. In most cases you are basically switching out a CD-Rom for a removable sata tray, or an old SCSI Drive for newer SATA drive. Only thing is too look for the deals regarding the chassis, Look for the ones that are the cheapest, The most I spent was for the Glyph trip bay, around $100 ,overall it will cost me about $200 to get the case ready with some removable drives (not including hard drives). The glyph chassis are rock solid and very tough and rackmountable. The only downside for anyone else I guess is that I have a friend that works for a metal machining company, so instead of using the old faceplates on the glyph drives I have him machine me new ones to my specs. But you can still use the glyph drive faceplates with no problems, I just do it for asthetic reasons and since it's available for free I figure why not.
I decided to go with a Firmtek 4 port adapter (2 internal & 2 external) and a Swift Data 200 (http://www.transintl.com/store/category ... egory=2490).
