Yeah... plus your Avatar looks like you'd be using Logic anyway.

I like improvements in performance as much as the next guy but I gotta say that 4.61 on my Dual G4 with UAD and Powercore is the most stable and efficient of any DAW I've owned. This includes my ProTools HD 192 rig and all previous DP and ProTools set ups dating back to inception.
So sure, optimize away but I'm delighted as is.

I don't care for new flashy features, i'd like to see the bugs fixed and the code streamlined............it truly hasn't been dealt with. Please no more new features just make the current version scream.........

Optimize the core, then optimize the bells and whistles... Then thoroughly test it before it gets to my computer. Thanks, MOTU.

And another. Optimization should be priority-one for DP.

Count me in.
There really has to be something wrong with the MAS engine. I'm sure optimization is also Motu's 1st priority, sure they have tried DP with big track count and found it's coughing blood-meter up.
How does Audiodesk (lite version of DP) work, anyone using it? Does it work better?

and another one,
although primarely working under OS9.2 DP3, this could help me make the jump.
AND keep a few of my buddys on the DP side.

Count me in.........

They are probably, right now , working the codes for the X86 passage. Hope it's gonna be better and not just "tie rap" and "duct tape" to make it work...

Yes, optimize before new features ... except for hardware inserts with latencey compensation. (anyone else need that?)

Well, my problems are mostly related to poor MIDI timing, stuck notes and patch list hell. However, as I consider these to be core parts of any sequencer package, and processor stress is likely the root cause of two of these problems, I say fix what's there before you add any more decorations. The new paint and flashy appliances may look nice but the foundation has been too long neglected.
