Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
I'd love to see Cherry Picker updated as well. Even if Editor-Librarians are or become available for our old hardware synths, it's great to be able to call up patches from within DP. (Don't worry, I won't use the late lamented U-word here!) Even though I am currently using OS 10.6, I will eventually get a newer computer and will need an Mavericks (or maybe Yosemite after next week!) capable version. Thank you James, for your hard work on this.

Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
+1. I would definitely be very happy if cherry picker was updated.
Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
I own numerous hardware synths, most of which I rarely use in the studio actually, but I might use them more if I had cherry picker, so if this app gets resurrected I will definitely consider buying it.
Just looking at the screen shots, looks like it might be useful for setting up drum maps too?

Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
Odd question, but is it possible to use Cherry Picker to name patches that have no names on the synth? I'm thinking about an old Moog I have that only uses the numbers 0-99 for it's patches. If I could label the patches inside DP then the chances of overwriting a patch etc go down.

Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
I'm pretty sure you can do that. I have a patch list I created for my old Ensoniq EPS-16+ and combined with macros, I can load any sound from any bank on the attached SCSI (LOL) HD without touching the front panel.

Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
Cool, saving patches, and keeping track of which song a patch is used in is down to a spreadsheet at this point, which is less than desirable.
Mostly I just SysEx the patch into the song, but that gets annoying if you want to tweak the patch after other parts are added etc.

Re: Project Cherry Picker!!!
• What happened to CherryPicker?
Basically, I gave away all my MIDI boxes soon after I wrote CherryPicker, and switched to audio. I wrote it for myself, and no longer needed it, so it was left to rust away. Since I started it back on OSX 10.1, it was PPC only, and its code belongs in a museum given the way the frameworks and Obj-C have evolved.
About 5 years ago I got a Yamaha Motif XS8 and couldn't find any patch lists for it, so I hacked an Intel version for myself that covered the basics. I never thoroughly tested it, but it worked for what I needed: all my XS8 banks and patches, along with my custom patch lists, showed up in DP. This version miraculously runs on 10.9.
• About this version
I am not supporting it - it's 'as is'! I remember that most of it worked: auditioning, creating custom patch lists, note lists etc. But I never tested it all... You're on your own!
The functionality is 'with luck' identical to the 2.62 released version - so the original documentation is still valid. Some bugs have been reported, but I can no longer compile/debug the old project in Apple's current development environment to make any quick fixes. Too much has changed.
------
I will not be putting this up on the CherryPicker site as I cannot support it without a complete re-write for the modern 10.9/10.10 world. With 83 source files, that's not a trivial weekend project!
James has kindly offered to put this Intel version of CherryPicker up on his site - many thanks James
.
I hope you find it useful. Here's the link:

Sweet! Very kind indeed. I don't need it today, but will be downloading and storing for that rainy day when I do.
