launching an ableton live audio clip from DP MIDI track
Is there any way to launch an audio clip in ableton live 9 via DP MIDI track? if you can attach a controller key to trigger an audio clip from a controller and record that into a DP MIDI track why cant the MIDI track be routed to trigger the audio clip in lives session window??

There are ways of doing things like this, but the complexity of it makes it something for which you probably should do most of the figuring yourself.
The first thing that pops in my mind uses a Custom Console. The custom console would need to be created to "hear" a certain MIDI event, such as the lowest note on your keyboard, or perhaps an unused fader on your MIDI keyboard, or any MIDI event that you might wish to put in a MIDI track to control the console, whereupon the Custom Console would then send a signal either through Interapplication MIDI or through a MIDI interface (via MIDI cables) and back into Live through MIDI. In Ableton Live, you'd have to find a way to allow a MIDI command to trigger the sound file. Not knowing Ableton that well, I can't really help you on that end of things.
This is one of probably many ways to do it. Some are probably a lot simpler.
But...
Some questions enter my head:
1) Why not just have Ableton receive the same MIDI event that triggered the custom console in DP? That is, if you're playing it from your keyboard, why would you need DP to trigger it in MIDI? I guess you're playing a sequence from DP and you want Live to act as a VI of sorts; is that right?
2) or... Why not put the sound file in DP?
3) Why not load audio clips as "samples" into Mach Five and play them from M5 as a VI in a V-Rack?
This is just one of those things that sound like there is probably a better, easier, more reliable way of doing it than the one you're describing.

Wow Sir Sooshie replied to my inquiry !! i am truly honored, thanks!!

yes yes and yes!!! i thought of using M5 for this but here is the problem.. you can adjust (by warping) the timing of sound files and i have done some complicated, pinning and stretching of some sound files to rhythmically match other material, i could just "bake" the stretched warped files and bring them into DP but i might want to fine tune them as i work on the project so i dont want to commit to anything permanent....all of your suggestions are WAY over my my head lol..... there has got to be a way..... is there any Ableton Live 9 experts here?
Thanks so much for your reply Sooshie!

I've done so little in Live that I would be of no help to you on that end. If you want to use it as a slave, you're going to have to know how to put it in slave mode, that is, to receive timecode from DP. Or something to that effect. You might get better answers to that in an Ableton forum.

Use Lives Arrangement View to put clips onto the timeline where you want them.
This way Live can be used in ReWire mode as a slave with no issue unless you need third party VST/AUs in Live. Also of course it allows you to tweak the warped sounds at your hearts content.
I believe there are issues with attempting to actually launch clips in Rewire mode related to the way rewire slave mode works? I'll check right now….
