Omnisphere sounds stuttering in DP8
Omnisphere was working fine in DP8, until ... I wanted to free up HD space by removing some obsolete files. I must have deleted the wrong file because now Omnisphere sounds stuttering in DP8, no matter how many VI's are open. I have uninstalled & reinstalled DP8. I have uninstalled & reinstalled Omnisphere. Still that same problem. I've opened Omnisphere in Garageband to check how that would work, and everything sounds normal there. I've tried Ethno Instruments 2 in DP8 and that works fine too.
The stuttering sound has a steady pulse. I've tried freezing or bouncing but that doesn't solve the problem.
Any ideas how I can fix this???

Sounds like you trashed DP's preferences and it created a default one in its place.
If it worked before, can't you restore your system to a previous working state via Time Machine?

Reinstall DP8? …do you have any earlier versions of DP you could troubleshoot with. I have issues with Omnisphere in DP8, albeit different ones. DP7 is solid though.

@ FMiguelez: Time Machine wasn't active when the problem started, because my Time Machine HDD was full. Stupid ... I know.
Re: Omnisphere sounds stuttering in DP8
@ dix: My previous version of DP is 4.5, which is of no use with Omnisphere. The thing is ... it worked perfect in DP8 before.

Right. Which is why reinstalling DP8 would the next thing to try. ...if there's a Deinstall option with DP installer, do that before you install maybe? I can't recall off hand if Deinstall is part DP installers.merlyn wrote:@ dix: My previous version of DP is 4.5, which is of no use with Omnisphere. The thing is ... it worked perfect in DP8 before.

Re: Omnisphere sounds stuttering in DP8
I have uninstalled DP8 before - manually, every component of it - but I forgot to remove the MOTU Preferences in the Library. I've just uninstalled it again - all of it this time - and reinstalled DP8 and ... it works again.
Thank you dix and FMiguelez for the advise.

DP 5 - 7 have uninstallers. DP 8 does not.
