DP 8 shutting down same spot of the song [RESOLVED]
I just finished recording all the tracks to a new song, and all tracks and everything was great then suddenly (after doing a bunch of pitch correction as my singing leaves much to be desired). DP 8 keeps shutting down at exactly the same spot in the song. Its driving me crazy. If I place the swiper later in the song before playing it will play the rest of the song and all is intact, but if started anywhere before the spot where it has been shutting down, it will shut down again. I pitch corrected my main vocal.and no problems. I pitch corrected the back in goals and then this started occurring. I saved a copy as (another name) then erased the backing vocal tracks and still it shut down at the same spot. What the hell! Please help me.

Re: DP 8 shutting down same spot of the song [RESOLVED]
Resolved, maybe, but I still am not sure what was happening. By "shut down," do you mean that the playback stopped? That's something that can happen to anyone. It's called AutoStop, and basically all you need is to set a memory location (default keyboard command is F1) and then hit the 9 on the numeric keypad.
Keypad-7 will usually suspend the stop and rewind auto-transport events: Autostop, Memory-Rewind, while Keypad-minus will suspend Memory-Loop.
Not sure this is what was happening, but it sure sounds like it.

No Shooshie, it wasn't just play suspending. DP quit (turned off, disappeared from the screen, had to be reopened) every time it got to the same exact point in the song. Funny, if I took the swiper just past that point of the song and started play again, it played the rest of the song just fine. So far i have had no problems since the update.

I'd check the event list in every track to make sure no weird and strange thing got put in there. you don't want it cropping up and crapping out again.

Re: DP 8 shutting down same spot of the song [RESOLVED]
Exactly. I had a similar problem once with a buggy plugin. Every time I got to a certain automation point DP would freeze. For whatever reason, the other automation points for that plug didn't cause a problem and if I started the sequence after that point, there was no problem. I seem to recall it was a Stillwell plug, and an update from Stillwell fixed the problem. Could have been Blue Cat Audio, though. Can't remember.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:I'd check the event list in every track to make sure no weird and strange thing got put in there. you don't want it cropping up and crapping out again.
