I am currently waiting for new Mac Mini to come out. I am currently working on a computer with 8GM RAM (installed and also maximum possible). I would need at least 16GB RAM for running needed instruments in DP plugins (Play, Kontakt etc.).
Quite often, after opening and closing some apps and then trying to load DP document, I am getting warnings from Play plugin that I should abort loading because RAM is getting low. Purge command in Terminal helped almost always- the alert went away and system was stable.
I used to have a very simple shell script which I ran in Keybord Maestro and triggered by F16-key. In OS 10.9 Mavericks it is sadly not possible because 'purge' command requires sudo. In 10.9 one needs to run command 'sudo purge' and enter admin pasword. (Note that you have to be logged in as admin user or it will be even more compicated).
There are several workarounds to this issue which include major sequrity problems. I decided to program a KeyboardMaestro macro that will ask for password, if needed and execute the purge command. If anyone is interested I can share that macro with you.

I get crazy warnings from Play all the time. They don't affect my use of it at all. I close the dialog box. From the get go for me Play has had interface problems.
