[Apologies if this is stated elsewhere on the web but I can't find anything definitive. I've written to MOTU but wondered if anyone had anything to share]
1 - Will my original UltraLite work on Mavericks?
2 - If so, with what drivers/What are the latest drivers to work with my UL? On MOTU's site the latest FW driver only explicitly mentions the Mk 3.
Cheers.

Re: Mavericks and UltraLite Mk 1?
I'm having the same issue with my Motu Ultralite MKII Firewire External Soundcard, I am running OS Mavericks and Installed proper drivers, as well as deleted old drivers manually and re installed un plugged in ect as other forums descibed... still nothing. It won't pickup the motu but sends proper power and it powers on perfectly, I did buy a newer macbook i7 15" 2.5ghz with firewire 800 port. thus I had to purchase a 400 adapter, I am thinking it can be my adapter, so Im going to find a 400-800 cable instead of an adapter and see if this will fix the issue! please let me know if there are any thoughts and or ways around this!
Re: Mavericks and UltraLite Mk 1?
For anyone reading this - MOTU replied that the latest drivers appear to work in Mavericks but they're still testing (same as said on their web) and that the Mk 1 uses the same driver as the Mk 3 i.e. the latest ones. Not upgrading to 10.9 just yet.
As for your UL not working, I have no idea. When I first started to use mine with a newer Mac that only has FW 800 I used a 400-800 cable which didn't work and then changed to an adaptor which did work.
