DP 8.04 Crashing on Mountain Lion

Post by dmann200 »

I just upgraded everything in my system and now DP crashes every 5 minutes (literally)

The sequence that is currently crashing contains Kontakt 4, 2 instances of Omnisphere, and Altiverb 7.

My machine is Mac Pro Tower 5,1 with 4 cores (Hyperthreaded = 8) at 3.2 ghz.
16GB Ram
Solid state drive
MOTU 2408 Mark II audio interface
DP 8.04
OS X 10.8.4
Altiverb 7
Stylus (Latest)
Omnishere (Latest)

I have no idea why its crashing but it's making it very hard to work.

Have you updated all your drivers & repaired permissions? That is a very important step in stabilizing another wise unruly system.

Are you running DP 8.04 in 64-bit or 32-bit mode? Do you have the latest version of Altiverb 7? Kontakt 4 isn't 64-bit. Altiverb 7 comes up as an AU
in DP 8.04 in 64-bit mode, not MAS. These two plugs may be the culprit.

8.04 is solid here on my 2009 MacBook running OSX 10.8.4.

Every once in awhile, DP 7.24 will crash on me in ML 10.8.4. I can almost predict which combination of plugs will do it (RX 2 and...) - it only happens when I am in a rush, too. I have only two more to finish then I am done with 7 unless I need to revisit a legacy project.

DP 8? Not ever, not once, hasn't happened yet.
