Installed DP 8.02, TM Error - How I fixed.

This probably won't happen to you but, if it does...

After I installed DP 8.02, Time Machine stopped working. It would start, run, quit but would not show the last backup as having occurred.

I opened Console to see pages of Access Denied and Unable to Read and deny file-read-data /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins errors. Oops! I forgot to run Repair Permissions. Did that.

Now TM worked but was extremely slow. Console showed line after line of this: sandboxd: mdworker deny mach-lookup com.apple.ls.boxd

Stupid Mac Trick: This error is generally fixed by re-booting your Mac in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key while booting. After it has finished booting, shut down and re-start normally.

I am fairly certain that the real problem is a failing hard drive that I am using for TM. After I did the above, I ran a SMART test in TTP 6.

This is the replacement for a Seagate drive I sent under warranty about 8 months ago. This one goes back tomorrow. Fortunately, my WD drives don't look like this.
