Problem Upgrading to Recabinet 3.5(Resolved)

Post by rnappi »

Greetings,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I updated Recabinet from 3.1.1 AU to 3.5 AU in DP8.01 and I'm getting no audio when I insert the plugin. Also, both versions are showing up in the plugin finder which I find strange. I would think after upgrading, only the latest version(3.5) would be listed in DP. Ver. 3.1.1 works fine, so something strange is going on with the upgrade. I've tried reinstalling, but no luck getting it to work.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having issues?

Thanks,
rich

I've downloaded the Recab 3.5 installer but haven't run it - and won't,
now that I read this.

This definitely calls for a tech support email to the Recabinet folks,
methinks.

I emailed Recab tech support and this was their reply:
Strange, there have been no issues in other AU hosts. We've contacted MOTU several times over the last couple of years to request an NFR license of Digital Performer, to no avail. Strange, as we've had no issues getting NFRs promptly from other (much larger) DAW manufacturers. Sadly, we can't fix issues if we can't recreate them in house.

I suppose we can contact MOTU again, it's been a few months since the last time we wrote them...

So I guess we'll wait and see??????

I haven't tried updating yet but if it's also available as a VST have you tried alternatively installing the update as a VST instead of AU?

The 3.5 AU upgrade works in 32 bit mode. It replaces ver. 3.1.1 and all is good. My only problem is I run DP in 64 bit. I tried installing the VST version as per kgdrums's suggestion, but still no luck. For what it's worth, the 3.1.1 component is labeled as 64 bit, but ver 3.5 has no such label.

I'll send another message to Recab to make sure this upgrade works in 64 bit.

We're investigating some issues with AU format in 64 bit that didn't present themselves during the beta. A bug fix update will be released as soon as possible.

Very sorry about this!

Recabinet 3.5.1 update is out now, which fixes the issues in Logic 9 64 bit. I have no idea if this fixes things in DP, hopefully I will have a test copy of DP soon...

All's good with 3.5.1 in DP8 64 bit.

Thanks for the quick fix Shane.

Great to hear this is working for you guys. In other good news, I finally heard back from the great folks at MOTU, and future versions of Recabinet will be tested in Digital Performer. :koolaid:
