Opening a V-Rack from another file

Post by Twitch »

Is it possible to use a V-Rack setup from another file / project? If so, how can this be accomplished?

Choose LOAD from the file menu and import it like any other "chunk." For a long time I could not find the VRacks i created until I reallized they were chucks.

Might be a littleprocessor intensive. On a Dual 2.0 G5 it took about 75 seconds to import asimple Vrack with one instance of MachFive and an everb.

Go to the Project Menu --> Clippings --> "New Digital Performer Clippings Window" to create a new clippings window (or drop down on the menu to open an existing one). Drag the V-Racks "chunk" into it. Done.

Shooshie is right. Clipping is way easier!

Thanks. I forget who first posted it, but I put it in the tip sheet a while back. It's been very useful to me, too. The original poster's name is in the Digital Performer Tips Sheet.

I think(I'm not at my Mac at the moment) that you can just drag the Vrack chuck right from the chunks window in the old project to the desktop, then drag it into the chunks window in the new project.

If I'm understanding what the original question was.
