No, it's this year. The Mayan's were clearly using Reaper.

To do what you want to do, I make a new track, Split the sound file, and use the option drag in the mixer. That way, if I want to tweak the tweak again later, I don't have to get into automation.

Seriously Too Damn, how many ways can you tell us that you're Sh*t-outa-luck on this one? Don't worry, if it's a bug, they'll fix it.. unless you decide to change DAWs or something (that'd teach 'em).
It was nice to speak with MOTU today and avoid the acrimony that a few members here can occasionally create and actually get to the bottom of an issue.
While you think I am posting to be redundant, I am posting so that others may know this is a confirmed bug.
I do so to help the community here at large. This takes valuable time out of my production schedule and I do so to help.
Unless a given member receives an email for every new post that appears on this forum, I do not see the harm. All of the complaints seem to inaccurately assume that every member is watching this particular thread. This is not so. The title of the 2nd post, (and there have only been two threads despite inaccurate assumptions that there have been many more than 2) adds in a very important fact, A confirmed Bug with MOTU. These confirmations are very hard to come by. I think and CONFIRMED bug should have it’s own post.
So you go ahead and think me ridiculous. I think you are misguided in your assumptions as to why I do what I do.
You;ve added in •••• out of luck, you’ve added in ditching DP and moving onto other DAWs. wow man!
2Dam,

Thanks for helping. I really don't know what we'd do without you. I mean, really! Your nitpick ways reflect a committed user who expects DP to work as it SHOULD, not as it DOES. It's people such as yourself who make DP a better app by holding MOTU's feet in the fire… even if sometimes you do tickle their toes and make them laugh uproariously. They eventually get it right. Thanks, bro!

To whom it may concern:

If 2Dam could post and continue a single thread on a legitimate problem (for him) without having that thread get derailed and derided, he wouldn't have to post three threads. He's not a troll, he's actually using the software. When you're working and have a problem, you want answers.

Some people here thrive on acrimony.

It gets tedious.

If a problem doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply to you. Let it pass without comment. Threads will be much shorter in length and will waste less of our time.

Please.

Yeah, at the risk of starting up a firestorm once again, I am not sure why variations on a thread or even repeated calls for attention on an issue should be that big of a deal. I mean, like TV, on does NOT have to watch.
I am wondering if some members have their settings set to receive ALL posts.
In that case, I could very well understand that redundancy could become annoying if one is receiving and e mail for every new post...yikes!.
Otherwise, if you’ve seen an issue and a similar post comes up, don;t read the darn thing..lol

And thanks for the support Shoosh and Tobor, (and others).
And the private emails I often get supporting my being so “demanding” of DP, are also appreciated. And, believe it or not, I also appreciate the advocacy of the members here who feel offended when I demand things of DP. It takes many people to make a world man, We have fans, we have folks in the middle, and we have demanders like me who would cut a head off if it blocks something I want to accomplish in music.
As to copy and paste for mixing,
I really need to post a tutorial ala Shooshie on how I use copy and paste to mix.
It is a really amazingly cool technique and it is obvious that many members here have not understood why I feel it important or even what I am talking about.

It is a SERIOUSLY cool technique that I use on-the-fly to improve settings and mixes.
Not only does it allow one to paste settings around in a song, it allows one to FREELY and RAPIDLY try to one attempt to improve ANYTHING in a mix, without having to worry about screwing up the mix one already has.

I cannot live without this technique.
I am now running 8.01 and when I need to mix, I will load 8.0.
As to 8.01, There is definitely an improvement in window scrolling in 8.01, though it still could be better and is still a bit sluggish compared to Pro Tools 9 native.

Screw me. I don't watch every single thread for a few days and this silliness breaks out. When I have time I'll pare down the posts in here.

MIDI Life Crisis wrote:If I want them all, I'll option drag the plug to the track to copy them all. I didn't know you could copy individual knob settings (is that what we're talking about?) but I've copied plugs by dragging for a long time now. If it's an individual knob, just copy the numeric.

Or am I missing something?
The action in question here, MLC, is when you have a plugin window/s open (and it's the foreground window) you can simply hit command-c and copy all the setting of that plugin. I've used this feature many times and in certain situations it's very useful where you have plugins already in place and you just want to copy/paste settings. I can see why TDH finds this important for his work flow. From what I've read of this thread, it looks like MOTO is on this and hopefully will be fixed soon. So, no prob, right? 8)

The good thing about all of this is that a known bug has been verified and MOTU has stated they are on a fix. This is a good thing as it can be hard to clearly find bugs and get verification from MOTU.
Whatever acrimony or blah blah that has come about has been unfortunate and unnecessary, and I am at a loss as to why it has all gone down that way.
But I am happy with the resulting bug find.
So I wouldn’t look on all of this too harshly as persistence has created a good result.
