Hello,
First of all I'm grateful to be here with you guys on this wonderful community.
I need your help guys for a basic setup for a motu 828 mk2 usb and logic pro.
My setup is as follows.
iMac 21" mid 2011 i5 with 8 GB ram
OS X Mountain Lion
Logic Pro 9.1.8
Motu 828mk2 usb
Now what i want is this. I want to play the piano and to record it in stereo via the audio interface with motu in logic pro.
I've installed the universal driver for the motu from motu's website and i configured my chanels with CueMix FX and they're open. When i play the piano that is hooked up to motu the channels are showing me that there is a signal although in logic pro there isn't any sign of signal.
I've done the audio configuration in logic pref pane and motu card is there.
The audio and MIDI setup in mountain lion is also done and i selected the in and out of the motu card. The out channels volume i can control but the in not.
I'm trying to record from the analog channels 1 and 2 of the motu card. I've tried other channels as well and in logic pro there is still no signal nothing.
Now can please someone help me do a basic setup of the motu card with Logic pro from step to step. I'm also a bit new to this.
Thank you.
P.S. I've tried the card with cubase on windows and it works so the card is functional.

When you connect the 828, does MOTU Audio Setup launch? It should.
Have you checked Audio In/Out (Sound in your System Preferences) to make sure that your 828 is selected for both?
If neither of the above helps, you may wish to shoot this question to Tech Support. I know you are missing a step but I use Logic so rarely. My 828mkII works fine with it when I do.

Yes when i connect the motu device the audio setup launches right away.
The motu device is selected as the primary input and output in audio/MIDI setup....

Re: Basic Motu and Logic setup
Are you using the 1/4 inch inputs Analog 1/2 or the Mic/Inst input 1/2? I know this sounds weird but Logic, by default, assigns numbers to any ins/outs that it 'sees'. Since Mic 1/2 are the first ins it sees, all of the following Analog ins (1/4in) are offset.
So if you hook into Analog 1/2, you will need to assign the channel input in Logic to Input 3-4 to grab the signal.. Yes...it's ridiculous but I got bit by it before. I think there's an option in Logic to use driver names or something which would make things easier.

But that is not what I asked.flamandu wrote: The motu device is selected as the primary input and output in audio/MIDI setup....
Open the Sound panel in System Preferences and you will see that you have not selected your 828 for input and output. AudioMidi setup does not do this.
I went nuts before I figured that out.
