Yep, but pls mind this sentence in the UFX's description: "Their high power technology delivers high volume no matter if high or low impedance phones are used." Nor detailed specs indicated there, but in case of the ultralite (based on the spec, Motu wrote me) it can supply approx. half of the power that the K702 would requires for take the full advantage of how it could sounds.mhschmieder wrote: Good to hear the Ultralite has a good headphone amp; this is usually the weakest link on any piece of gear that throws one in as a "bonus".
My RME Fireface UFX is out for repairs at the moment (the front panel never worked, but I put off parting with it until the need arose to use its standalone USB thumb drive recording mode -- I timed the repairs for now as I have an unusually busy autumn full of business conferences and jazz gigs so can't get much recording done right now anyway).
Thus, I don't think it will be necessary to splurge on a dedicated headphone amp, unless you need one for multiple cans and different impedances and levels. Sounds like you mostly just need to address the power issue on your Ultralite to get the best results.

See if the Radial H-Amp box does what you need:
http://www.radialeng.com/r2011/hamp-specs.php
It seems to cover a wide impedance range.
I've never used this specific Radial box, but it looks to be in-line with the loudspeakers, so probably is interoperable with just about any setup.
OTOH it seems more designed for stage use, before a mono wedge monitor, and I don't see any way off-hand to use two of these to get stereo or binaural signal flow.

Thanks for your suggestion mhschmieder... I've tried it out with an RME and it definitely solved my problem. I think i switch even if i love my ultralite
