Found out on twitter. Here are the changes:

New features introduced in version 8.01
The Consolidated Window now supports the full-screen feature in Mac OS X 10.7+.
The behavior for opening the Plug-in Chooser from a Mixing Board insert slot has changed slightly. If the insert slot already holds a plug-in, hold down the Command/Ctrl key while clicking the existing plug-in to open the Plug- in Chooser (instead of clicking the right side of the insert slot, as shown in Figure 67-7 on p. 769 of the DP8 User Guide).
If you use three or more monitors connected to your Mac, and you are running Mac OS X 10.6.8, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 for improved stability.

Improvements, optimizations, and refinements can also be found in the following areas:
- Hardware video output (both DV and MOTU video interfaces) - Movie window performance
- Sysex messages in 64-bit operation
- Rewire support
- Operation with Kontakt 4/5
- Importing sound files and soundbites, including possibly corrupted sound files - AAF export
- Clippings
- Consolidated window info panels and channel strip
- Scrolling in the Sequence Editor, MIDI Editor, Drum Editor, and Notation Editor - Meter animation throughout the program

I'm curious: is the online notification feature in DP still working? I remember MOTU built in the ability for DP to tell you when a new version was available. Hmmm... gonna launch and see if DP 8.0 barks at me! :)

UPDATE: Cool! It did notify me. Nice feature. :)

Weird. Motu.com's download section says there are no updates available for my account. And I even checked to make sure my copy of DP8 is registered and it is....

That happened to me too. Use the link I got from twitter at the top of the thread and it will get you there. Or check manually within DP and it will get you there as well.

Bounce to disk - FIXED. Still don't get options for the Quicktime movie bounce, but I can live with that. I'll have to check my MOTU TechLinks to see what else was fixed and close out a couple, if not all of them!

Also fixed the magnify tool in the MIDI graphic editor (rolling the mouse looped around the sizes).

I checked for updates manually, clicked the choice to get the update. It took me to the downloads sign in page and I logged in and it was right there at the top. I'm downloading it now.
