Missing an output on 2408MkIII using TDIF

Post by CurtZHP »

My setup is as follows: 2408mk3 connected to Tascam DM-24 mixer via three TDIF cables. PCI-424 card.

I was mixing on the DM-24, using my DAW as playback to all 24 channels of the 2408. The problem is that whatever is assigned to TDIF Bank B Channel 8 does not pass audio.

I've tried a couple different DAW programs, so it's not a software routing issue. No matter what I send to it, the output LED for that channel does not light and I hear no audio. All other outputs work fine.

I was about to suspect a TDIF cabling issue, but that's obviously not the case, since the 2408 doesn't even show a signal to that physical output.

Is there something within the MOTU Audio Console or Cue Mix that I'm missing? I don't even have Cue Mix running, and Audio Console looks like everything is fine.

Any thoughts?

Never mind.

Figured it out. Turns out the SMPTE Console had the generator assigned to that output. The fact that I wasn't even using it notwithstanding.
