Better price for DP upgrade than MOTU's price?
I wasn't sure of the best place to ask this, but does anyone know of a vendor selling DP upgrades for registered owners (DP 7 specifically) for a better price than MOTU's $195 price? I see better deals on competitive upgrades, but it's not clear whether vendors other than MOTU sell the upgrades for DP owners. Thanks!

Not that I've seen in the U.S. I've only found the upgrade buying directly from MOTU.

I believe some online vendors are selling it (like Sweetwater and a few others). I doubt the price of the upgrade is negotiable but you might get a break on shipping and tax from some vendors.
I know, that's the competitive linked above, but call and ask them about registered user upgrades. If they say no, then probably nobody but MOTU can. Or call MOTU...

Thanks. I thought it likely that the registered user upgrade could only be obtained from MOTU, but I figured it coudn't hurt to ask.

Like MLC, I've only seen the upgrade from Sweetwater, and it was the same price as MOTU's.

When I bought Mach5 from Sweetwater awhile back, they matched someone else's competitive upgrade price with free shipping.
I asked about registered user upgrades for DP. They said no unless I wanted to pay double for the competitive upgrade price - that they could do.

You're probably right. I thought I remembered talking about upgrading DP through Sweetwater about 10 years ago, but it was the same price. It may not have been DP. In any case, I've bought every upgrade directly from MOTU.mikehalloran wrote:When I bought Mach5 from Sweetwater awhile back, they matched someone else's competitive upgrade price with free shipping.
