Sure, you can spend lots of money on a card if you want. What card would you recommend as the best bang for the buck? "Buck" being the operative word. Since I don't do image-work per se I don't need accuracy. I'm just looking for the cheapest route to a smooth DP8.

5870 here from OWC.
I do 3d animation though, so I really wanted many oomphs in my system.

Works nice, not much $$.
