Lost Rewire in 64bits

Post by monsieurescargot »

Trying things out with DP8 and Ableton8 (32 and beta 64) rewired, i lost the rewire in DP 64bits, still works in DP 32bits. While in DP8/64, starting live8/32, nothing, starting live8/64b it says can detect other rewire master, but last opened with another version: quit both applications, restart live standalone for it to reinstall its rewire engine. did that, but live doesn't reinstall anything (in either 32 or 64), and the rewire is now only active with DP8/32. It was working fine before in DP8/64 with ableton in 64b. (hadn't tried DP8/64-Ableton 32)
••••. stuck with DP8/32 now.
anyone?

You have to run both apps in 64 bit - but there are some annoyances - I use Reason rewired to DP and I had to reset all my Reason Output links so they hooked up again with Reason from DP. That link appeared to have been broken. But otherwise mine is now working - so unless there is a specific Ableton problem I can vouch that DP8 runs in Rewire with Reason both being in 64 bit. But it didn't work immediately - I had to check my prefs in both apps, and then had to fiddle around till I got my keyboard to work in Reason. Then there was the sound output issue in DP with Reason links having been lost.

I would check all those fiddly bits first before you conclude it doesn't work - at first I was like you assuming it didn't work in 64 bit - good luck!

Hey Gaz.

were you able to get dp8 to work with reason?

I just installed dp8.1 on my 8core Mac pro and have reason5... but I am unable to get reason to slave to dp8. I went back to dp6 it worked, but cannot monitor sound.

if you are able to get it to work, would you explain to me how.

Thanks.

There is a 64bit rewire lib file in the Plogue Bidule download. It is in the utilities/extra folder that is there after unzipping.

I think it says it is rewire 1.9 or something like that...but all I know is that it does not appear on the propellerheads website...but was in the Plogue Bidule distribution...which is free to download.

Try replacing the rewire lib file with that and see if it begins to work.
