Hello all! Hopefully someone is able to help me. I am new to recording and am in need of someone who can dumb down setting up my MOTU 896mk3 Hybrid in conjunction with my Mackie 1640.
Currently, I have all of my mic's going to the mackie board along with a keyboard. They go outbound to monitors for rehearsal. I wanted to use this in Cubase as well as my MOTU for the recording mic's.
I assume I need to set one up as the slave and the other as the master in order to do this, and will need to "daisy chain" them to use for cubase. Any help with these two items would be much appreciated!
I apologize for the lack of understanding - my manuals have not been very beneficial as of yet.
Thanks again!

Mackie 1640 what? It makes a big difference. Some have a FW interface and others are analog only.

Are you using a PC or Mac for Cubase?
If using a Mac you can go into your audio/MIDI setup utility and create an aggregate device, combining both units assets into one essentially.
