Their website promo states - "Functions behind the front panel are not available but all sounds and features from the Minimoog V2.5 (a $229/219Eur product) are included. Just like the original Minimoog."
On the full current version, you click on the top part of the control panel
and it folds forward to reveal another set of functions and features - among
them, a modulation matrix router, additional LFO, access to chorus and delay
effects, and a "formant" engine that allows you to create "vowel" sounds with
the synth.
They also mentioned that the Moog products they make will need to be re-branded to something that doesn't use the Moog name. Moog is ending their relationship with Arturia. Wonder if the new versions will also require graphic changes.
This is perfect for me on the go, I've owned a Memorymoog forever, and having a decent Moog emulation is all I need. Never bothered to buy one as I know I would probably just replace the sounds, but for free it's just perfect!
Lol at Arturia ending their relationship with Moog and starting one with Oberheim....
M2 Studio Ultra, RME Babyface FS, Slate Raven Mti2, NI SL88 MKII, Linnstrument, MPC Live II, Launchpad MK3. Hundreds of plug ins.
Michael, Moog is ending their relationship with Arturia, not the other way around. The point of view is significant. I don't know the reasons, but it would not surprise me if it is related to their involvement with UAD, who have released at least one(?) Moog product for that platform.

Crap. Got a damaged .dmg file and now I can't get through at all. This is going to be frustrating.
Dear musician,
Congratulations! you are about to download one of the best virtual instruments available, the result of a close collaboration between Bob Moog and Arturia that started in 2003.
The first time you will launch the Minimoog V Original you will be asked to enter an activation code.
Your personal activation code is:
Be aware that the Minimoog V Original does not grant you any free upgrade to the future versions of the Minimoog V. It does not allow for online or telephone support.
We hope you will enjoy playing this wonderful instrument which is now part of leading musicians' equipment;

Got this sucker working, and it actually sounds great. If anyone knows how to route external inputs to the VI using DP, please chime in. KG- try using it in demo mode without the authorization code. Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman for a day. Damn, I feel old.
Can't get on either. Tried all day.
Got an email with a link to facebook, which I did and they are suppose to
send me links within 48 hrs. We shall see. In other words try FB http://www.facebook.com/arturia2

I clicked on the Facebook like link several times , finally I got the response
that I'd get link with activation code in 48 hours.
I didn't want to wait so I decided to try the dmg link Cuttime posted,
I opened in Safari,Firefox & Chrome at the same time, & pasted the link, I went back to the Mac about 15 minutes later,dl was successful for me in FF & Chrome,Safari timed out.
It's just luck of the draw w/ all of the traffic, getting through I guess.

The Arturia page finally loaded and said to go to the facebook page. I've avoided FB for this long and a free Moog synth is not enough to make me want to change that "status".
I have AAS's Ultimate Analog, and a few other good sounding faux-analog synths. My hands-on experience with analog synths is pretty limited. Though I do love a good sound when I hear one.
My wife is on facebook. Should I have her download it?
