Thanks for all your tips.
Anybody knows where DP7 puts temporary audio files while recording?

They are located in the Audio Files folder wherever you stored your DP session, by default. This happens when they get written and saved normally. Some people have been able to recover some files from the Trash when DP crashes in the middle of recording.

Have you checked if there's something there about your concert?

Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

I checked in that folder with Terminal while recording but it was empty!

You mean all the audio recorded up to that point was available in the trash and you recovered it this way?
Yes, that's what happened to me...

I found where DP puts temporary audio:

Volume_Name/.TemporaryItems/folders.501/TemporaryItems/

At least I know where to look for them, in bad events...

Anyway, this evening I have just finished a test: 26 tracks recording, I stopped after 4 hours, everything OK. Maybe the issue was related to the firewire cable I used to connect to the fireface 800: a firewire 800 to 400 adapter and a firewire 400 cable. Today I used a regular firewire 800 cable and everything has been fine. I hope it will be the same tomorrow during the show!

Just a quick thought: there was a thread recently where someone was recording at a concert and had the hard drive shut down because of heavy vibrations that triggered the safety mechanism that protects the drive from damage caused by rapid movements. Is it possible that happened in your case?

Whatever it was, good luck with the concert tomorrow.

Mhhhhh.... Thanks for your thought!!!
I'll check this too, I'll start moving the drive while recording some test tracks. Anyway I had some issues with the GUI (slow refresh) before the crash, and I don't think this is a drive related problem. But I'll check for sure.
Thanks for your help!

I *THINK* I found the issue.
I noticed that the GUI becomes slow and jerky if I set the horizontal scale (in tracks or sequence window) so large that I can see 30-45 or more minutes of audio (6/8 songs) alltogether in the window while recording.
This happens in tracks and sequence windows too.
If I zoom in horizontally so that the window displays only a smaller part of the show, the GUI immediatly returns to behave OK and smooth.
Maybe DP has to keep reference on the graphic waveform of all the tracks displayed in the window and if the tracks ar many and long, it starts having troubles...

Could you please test this on your systems?
