missing motu 828 MIDI drivers

Greetings. I've been running my 828 mk11 trouble free for years. However, after installing motu 828 mk2 windows software on a new computer , running XP Pro, the MIDI in’s and out’s are nowhere to be found. I’ve been to motu and downloaded the latest drivers but the situation persists. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am suddenly having this same problem. XPsp2 running Cubase SX3, neither the PC or Cubase can find the MOTU MIDI port anymore.

Also, now I have to reinstall both the drivers and the interface every time I reboot the PC. Not good... Once I reinstall fresh the driver 3.6.7.4 and the interface, then and only then can the PC and Cubase "see" the MOTU MIDI port and everything works fine. until I shut off the PS, that is.

Has anyone ever seen this and come to any solution for it.
The only drivers that work for audio (non MIDI) for my rig is 3.6.7.4 so that is what I reinstall every day that I have to work.

Was there ever any success tracking down this issue and solving it? A MOTU "techlink" request seems like a futile effort to get it sorted.
Anyone deal with this disappearing midiport stuff?

I tried all the drivers available from motu. None helped. Fired up an old m-audio midisport interface. One in one out. It was immediately detected by my DAW and I was able to get back to work.
