I have a MOTU Ultralite, Windows 7, and Sound Forge.
I am trying to record sound from internet into Sound Forge, but cannot get it to detect the sound and record it.
Can anyone advise settings I should check?

Re: Recording sound from internet to Ultralite
Hi Finland Blue:
Here's one setup that will allow you to record audio streams from the Internet:
- Setup Windows default playback device as MOTU Analog 1/2 and select "Properties" for MOTU Analog 1/2 and make sure 44.1 KHz is selected under sample rates of the "supported formats" tab.
- In the MOTU Audio Console, make sure Return Assign is Analog 1/2 and the sample rate is 44.1.
- In Soundforge, select Stereo ASIO Return as the input device, and you will have to enable input monitoring in Soundforge to hear the source you are recording.
Hope this helps.

May a song always touch you in a possitive way!

Re: Recording sound from internet to Ultralite
Hello Hotshot - sorry, I missed your reply earlier. Thanks for the suggestion. I got the internet stream to record ok now this way, but the level ks so small, just a thin line of audio graphic in soundforge. Ultralite seems to be set max in the mixing section. How can i get the level up?

Hi,
thanks for this 8 years later... now can you tell me how can I record the sound played from media player with my voice (by the microphone plugged on in 1) ?
exemple : when I want to quickly record a freestyle or repetition ..

These days, for Windows users at least, we have the donationware virtual mixer available here (free to use, but honor-bound to donate something).nutsobad wrote:Hi,

If you have a quality USB interface, selecting that as the A1 output device uses its buffer settings for low latency use.
Go to my YouTube channel (bottom of my sig) to find lots of Voicemeeter tutorials I've made over the last couple years that might help you. Start simple.
