828Mk2, Win7x64, Audio Console Won't Open

Post by t9c »

Newly installed MOTU drivers-v. 110314
Windows 7 x64
CueMix opens fine, but Audio Console keeps giving error "The MOTU audio device cannot be configured while audio is running. Please close all audio applications and try again."

I am an Administrator.
I have disabled onboard audio.
I have stopped all other audio related processes except "audiodg.exe" When I stop it, it restarts immediately.

Any ideas?

Figured it out. I was reading the Focusrite FAQ http://www.focusrite.com/answerbase/en/ ... hp?id=1030 about Firewire/x64 compatibility with their products which said you might have to use the 1394 legacy driver. So, I uninstalled the MOTU software, went to the Device Driver app, changed the onboard 1394 driver to use the legacy driver, rebooted, installed the MOTU software again. This time while installing there was a 2nd checkbox (Firewire/USB) that was already checked. Previously there was only Microbook. Finished the install, rebooted and then powered up the unit. I now can change the latency settings.

I don't know if using legacy firewire drivers for the 828MK2 in the Win7x64 environment is common knowledge or not. I didn't find it on MOTU's site though.
