dual---what's the big diff??

Post by tdblanchard »

is there a significant difference in speed between the dual processors and the singles?

say you're running with MX4 for simple keys, reason for drums and plug-ins for compression/dsp...
DP 6 (not installed) | MX4 | Reason | Symphonic Instrument | BFD2 | Mac Pro 8-Core 2.26 12GB RAM | "old school" 828 | Yamaha 01v | Digidesign 003 | Pro Tools 8 LE | '72 Fender Strat | http://www.superflydisco.com

huge difference. With two proc. your Mac can distribute the proccessing over two proccessors.

And of course, MAX the RAM.

Ram is reasonably priced these days so why not MAX all the slots.
