Exporting QuickTime video with streamers - won't display in

Post by kestudi »

Hi, I'm trying to export a quicktime movie from DP with punches and streamers in the video. It seems to work fine when I open the exported file with preview or Quick Time player. However, opening the same file with another media player (such as VLC) has issues: The video looks fine, but the streamers are gone.

I find this strange... Are the streamers saved to another video layer? I would have assumed that they just get burned onto the picture. However, they are disappearing, so they must be encoded in some special way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

From Quicktime Pro ($30 - if you don't have it, get it from Apple) EXPORT the file to a self contained movie and it should work. I'm just guessing. Not so sure what Quicktime 10 would do, but Quicktime 7 Pro should do what you need. Yes, I'd guess it's a separate video track. You can use the inspector to see how many video tracks there are.
