Plugin crashing DP
A few years ago I was using a G5 with both Plugsound pro and Machfive 2 (which both use an ilok) on Digital Performer. I upgraded to a MacBook pro and I'm using dp 7.22. I've reinstaled Machfive 2 and that works fine. The problem is the Plugsound plugin. I never liked Plugsound and haven't used it for years so I trashed everything I could find related to Plugsound. When I start up DP with the ilok in (for Machfive) everything loads fine until the plugsound plugin then the program crashes. When I start up the program with no ilok, the plugsound plugin asks for authorization, I say no, and everything loads up. So, somewhere on my computer is this rouge Plugsound plugin. I looked in the libary/Audio/ plugins. But I didn't see anything there that was a plugsound related plugin. Any ideas?

Re: Plugin crashing DP
Digital Performer supports MAS and AU plug-ins directly. Those plug-ins would be in one of these directories:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS/
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS/
If you have a VST-to-AU adapter plug-in, then it's possible that DP is loading the adapter plug-in which is loading the VST plug-in:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS/
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS/

The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

Re: Plugin crashing DP
Trash Digital Performers Audio Unit Info Cache. The Plugsound is till linked in this file.
By trashing the Audio Unit Info Cache, DP will rescan all your plugins and create a new Audio Unit Info Cache file without Plugsound involved.
