However (and I've mentioned this to MagicDave but he thinks it's right the way it now is.)
In the Mixer Window, when I click on the Tracks Selector icon at the bottom left, the window expands to the right, to accommodate the new screen real estate being used for the list of tracks. That's good. So I select some additional tracks and their track strips appear. Good. But then after I drag the lower right hand 'resizing rectangle' to the right to increase the width of the window to show the right-most tracks, and then 'unclick' the Tracks Selector icon, the right border of the Mixing Board Window jumps to the LEFT again. So then I have to drag the lower right hand 'resizing rectangle' to the right again, to re-show the right-most tracks. This always seems like extra work-slowdown, which would be eliminated if DP acted a bit more intuitively, and kept the Mixer Window as wide as possible, if there are now tracks that must be scrolled to, to be seen.
I had the same reaction. Would be interesting to hear why Magic Dave thinks this is the way it should work. I've ended up using the dedicated track selection window rather than those linked to each window. Just wish it would show the selected tracks when the TO is in front.

I just, in reading your post, realized that if i clicked the lower-left little "Show Tracks Selector" icon, then selected the tracks, then right away clicked the lower-left little "Show Tracks Selector" again before extending the Mix Window to the right, that would be one or two clicks less than I'm currently using, to get the job done... a little better.

... and this is precisely what I suggested, Tommy.

Thank you, Tommy.

A tip - don't employ the services of the banana boat; it's notorious for taking many months to get here, such as whenever DP is updated.

• Sounbite Grouping

Independent from Track grouping.

Is this possible now? (not that, which is part of the track grouping)

I'll post it here too :

DP 7 direct hardware playthru, works but :
fader readout and actual level is 2:1,
lowering level in DP by 20 dB gives 10 dB less level, etc.
This way, the faderbox has to be operated at very low fader settings

Best

One more :
Monitoring thru HW i.e. *only* L mono dig inputs for AES and SPdif at the same
time, will steal the left side of SPdif.
If I monitor the other side ( R mono SPdif ) too, no more stealing.
Not true for AES
This hit me during a show...
I had to use Cuemix FX instead, but there is no channel ordering in Cuemix FX...
Take care

It would be great to be able to individually move each column in the TO.
At present Output/Play/XMPT can only be moved as a block.
Same with Input/Mon/Rec.

I made it through 8 or 9 pages, so I apologize if any of this has been mentioned already.

I would dearly love to have the "record enable" and "play enable" and "solo" buttons put back in the event edit lists where they had always been before. I used these buttons religiously (and that's saying something for an atheist). For the life of me, I can't understand what possible reason there could have been for removing them. (There's still plenty of room to include them.)

For those of us who have grown up - and older - with Performer and Digital Performer, please give our poor eyes a break and make the lettering easier to see. I spend so much of my time squinting at the screen, and depending on what Theme you use, some of the lettering can be almost impossible to read.

Make a keyboard shortcut in the event edit list for "go to counter". Even when the Auto Scroll is set for all windows to follow the counter, setting a counter location doesn't necessarily scroll the top-most event to that position. Maybe I should just get QuicKeys.

The top 2 bars on windows are visually confusing. I've seen some discussion that this may be a Mac issue, but it would be nice if a fix could be found.

That's my 2 cents for now.

I always end up with MIDI tracks slightly ahead of the beat when using external computers.
When quantizing notes you can offset the grid +/- by ticks only.

It would be much easier to offset the grid by the known constant of the buffers rather than ticks which are always going to vary with tempo.
Cheers, AB

Please forgive if it's already been mentioned.

I would like to have a way to select a track, and have it pull up a selected insert plugin on that track, after it puts the other open plugin away. It would work like this:

You're on track 5 and you have insert 1, an EQ, open. Then you select track 9. It hides the track 5 EQ and then pulls up track 9 insert 2, a compressor (because #2 is the insert you specified for track 9). Each track in the mixing window or channel strip could have a little dot next to the insert you have specified to come up when that channel is selected.

This way, when you're working on tweaking lots of tracks, you can choose what plugin comes up when you select the track, and simultaneously hide the other plugs so they don't clutter up the screen. You can sort of do this now but you have to use the flip-down menu in the effects window to select the track, and then another flip-down to select the insert. With my idea, if you had a certain plugin, like say an EQ on every channel, that EQ would always come up when you selected the track, whether it be from a mouse click or a controller.
