Your top 3 requested Post Prod DP features
The Unicornation DP post prod forum was as far as I know the only one of it's kind. So come on lets get it going strong again!
As an incitement I challenge you to name your top 3 DP for post feature requests. Stuff specifically for post.
Here's mine.
3) Export with timecode. Need to be able to export an audio file with an embedded timecode that is user assignable.
2) Reel numbers. Need to be able to assign a reel number to a sound bite.
1) auto-assemble. Need to be able to control a VTR via serial and automatically re-capture a bunch of clips to DP.
what say you?

Re: Your top 3 requested Post Prod DP features
definitely agree with the machine control - without that its damn near impossible to use DP in serious post work.
the ability to write the finished mix onto the quicktime movie it was cut to.
the ability to export OMFs that are Avid compatible.

Would love to be able to select all from here in track. or in and out points that you can use to select a range and delete from (like in a Non Linear Editor). Manually selecting with the mouse for this is tedious and imprecise.
Or a reconform if there was a new OMF file of the same movie, so that the effects would be kept. and the soundbites from the old would automatically be moved to the correct position of the NEW but maintain fades, etc.

Import and Export of AAF (Advanced Authoring Format)
It appears to be a new project format that is being supported by
a number of companies.
DP should support it.

1. Clip-based volume trim. Nuendo's got a flawed version of it that I got hooked on. Reminds me of the Fairlight MFX3.
2. Clip-based EQ would rock, but I realize it's a pipe-dream. The MFX3 is the dialog-editing-machine-of-choice for this feature--IMHO.
2. OMF import that is compatible w/ AVID.

Can you scale the counter window in DP 4.5? It would be nice to enlargen it so I could see it better. Think I will post this in Dp fourm too.
