Too much excitement here. Time for a MonkeyLabs MoodBuster Transient After-Dinner Perception Cookie™. That'll learn me... for about 6 hours at any rate.

Were you trying out the new gear onstage in this shot?

Oh man. I forgot to include visual evidence in that NDA. As the reigning E-Steamed Grand Poobah of Pooparazzi™, this comes as no surprise. Well done Billy. Again.

Yeah, I was just road testin' the range; all models must pass the MonkeyFunk™ test. Corrosion resistance to banana peels and flesh, as well as, of course all consistencies of poomunition (principally poovided by the audience), has been our number 1 challenge. It goes without saying that sound quality and tone run distant places to considerations such as "wipeability" of liquor finishes, oxidation in response to poosistent, well, poo, and resilience during random and sporadic GemTricks fits of anarchic expression on stage.

monkey man wrote:Billy, thank you for obeying your NDA. I knew I could trust you, hence my decision to not lock you up like all those employees. Good boy! A reward awaits your collection at the MonkeyLabs Industries™ reception area. Just ask for package D. Hint: There's over a dollar there - unprecedented generosity from the Monkster himself.
I received Package D, but all that was inside was an IOU for one aussie dollar. So I promptly took it to the bank and placed it in a secure safe deposit box. Phew.
Smart move, Billy; it'll be worth a fortune one day. I almost direct-deposited it for you at .01%, but figured I'd allow you the pleasure of carrying out the investment yourself. Who knows, a little shopping around could land you an even fruitier deal. :?
billf wrote:I also survived the experience of being in your lab, which between the flinging projectiles and banana peels laying about at random locations throughout the facility, made me glad I had the hazard pay clause in my contract. :woohoo:
Ha! It won't surprise you then to learn that MLI in fact drafted the very first compoolsory company indemnity insurance scheme in our constipootion down here in Jungleville. The clause you benefitted from was written by yours truly; I've even a custom made, gold-leaf-stamped banana peel frame surrounding the verifiction certificate that hangs in my orifice as we speak. I'm not proud of it - I just point out the historic significance of it to all and sundry, Mondays through to Saturdays and not Sundries, of course.

I can hardly take the credit for said legislation as the MLI warehouses especially have operated in a manner in stark contrast to the rest of the city and indeed the state - a veritable hive of (all sorts of) activity. Before ML Industries™, nothing happened down here. Nothing. I'm a game changer in these parts, and sometimes laws have to be written to accommodate my tendency to turn things on their heads, which is the right way up down under (you wouldn't know it though - the locals to this day persist in their attempts to walk on their heads). I say to them, "Hey, if y'all wanna have your heads stomped on, bury your noses in this catalog and give me a call". Works every time.

Enough of the moderatus operetta though. I'm in danger of breaching my self-imposed NDA, and frankly have had quite enough of whuppin' myself silly. I'll only take so much before I take a stand. :?

Sorry there's nothing funny or entertaining to report. Just getting you up to speed on the facts, Billy. Nice snap, by the way. That's one snappy camera you must have. I've still no idea how you managed to smuggle it into the venue, but I respect your poofessionalism and daren't impede your increasingly busy climb up the ladder that is the Hairway to Seven... ty mil in the bank. Way to go man.

Funny thing is (apart from MM's dangerous stream of consciousness thinking that is!) that I sent the Big White Monkey people a coupla inquiring emails, but they haven't answered!

Their amps have built-in attenuators, so you have, in effect, a built-in DI.

I am a sucker for little pre's and amps that have this feature, because it makes it easy and fun to just patch them directly into my audio interface for recording. For $285 (AUD) for their head, its worth the $$ just for the experiment alone. Unfortunately, they don't seem to want to sell me nuthin', 'cause they never get back to me.

Oh well, they are just a bunch of monkeys after all...
Cheers,
BK

I spoke too soon about the monkey people from Big White Monkey Amps not getting back to me.

They emailed me today with the information I was after, and they were apologetic about the delay, they have just gone through a relocation and they had some ISP problems.

Looks like it is true that if you chain enough monkeys to enough computers, eventually they will be able to send an email.
Cheers,
BK

Awwwwright!!!!

The thot plickens.
In my seemingly never-ending quest for a new recording/practice/lunch box amp or head, I have come across yet another one of Nicky's guitar amplifier ventures. This time, he is going under the name of '3 Monkeys'.

One can only wonder who the other two are...

Indeed! Thank you, Billy.

The thought that my one "haven" of respite on the castanets should be no more doesn't bear thinking. I know how all those famous folks Phil spoke of feel. :?

I'd best get a volunteer flyer printed up promising participation in a mystery experiment; that usually works. :?
