FabFilter Pro-L Limiter GET ON IT

Post by strikingtwice »

Hi all.
I just checked out the demo for FabFilter's new limiter, and I absolutely love it. Pricy, but might splurge. It has one of the most interesting readouts I've ever seen, cool UI (as expected from them), and most importantly sounds great.

The look of FF plugs is always a point of contention, some love, some hate, but it's still a great limiter. Curious to know others' thoughts.

Fab Filter is indeed fabulous. Fast intuitive interface, 64 bit math, instant bypass that doesn't change delay time, MS mode and volume and pan. Try automating changes during a mix. Wow! It is amazing to realize how much more extreme filtering can be accomplished in linear phase mode than zero latency minimal phase mode without sounding EQed. With the ability to switch between modes this is great for live mixing and subtle to extreme mastering tweaks.

 Just realized that I am referring to fab filter pro Q the linear phase eg plug not Pro-L the limiter plug, I'll guess that it is pretty great as well.

If I had the dough, I'd simply buy everything the company put out, sans evaluation.

I know a good thing when I see it; you'd have to be blind to have missed these guys...
