10.3.9 and MIDI performance

hello,

i've noticed that, after quitting some apps {midiquest, the evolver editor}, the MIDI server, erm, freaks out, and utilises upwards of 90% cpu. i have to quit the process in the activity monitor, or kill -3 it from terminal. has anyone else noticed any dodgy MIDI behaviour with os 10.3.9? should i consider this a problem with the apps, the os, both?
