One of my fav software devs, Audio Damage has a new plug-in out - AXON, an FM- based synth with an innovative sequencer

Re: Audio Damage "Axon"
I was ready to jump on it, but started thinking about how it doesn't do MIDI out in the AU version. Then I started thinking about Numerology again. Then I posted about it. Now I'm looking at alternatives to both.
I still might get it.

I am not a programmer but, as far as I know and how it was explained to me, by Melda Productions, "Audio Unit Plugins," DO support "MIDI OUT" but, there is very little documentation. The developer said that to implement MIDI OUT in VST, it's matter of a few hours, where in AU, it can take a couple of days. Another reason is that in DAW host like Logic, Digital Performer and others that support AU plugin, don't have the AU MIDI OUT programmed in the DAW itself.
The short answer is YES, AU supports MIDI OUT and even if, it's coded into the plugin itself, it still won't work because it's not coded into the DAW.
Here is a link to the Apple AU documentation:

And here is another link related to AU MIDI OUT:

Maybe someone from MOTU, can give a true explanation on this matter.

Yes... don't plugs like Toontrack EZ Player have to employ some sort of MIDI Out, or do they use another method?

Hi James and forum,
here is an example:
With EZplayer, the little window sequence display at the bottom center, you can just click & drag the file on CH 10 MIDI drum track, or you can build the drum track with an instance of EZPlayer and then set the CH 10 to record and receive from that instance of EZPlayer.
EDIT: Hello James and forum. I was on toontrack's web site a few minutes ago and remembered of this post. You and the forum, please accept my apologies. The example was meant for EZ drummer and not EZ player. I got the names mixed up and has most likely created confusion. I'm really sorry.

Re: Audio Damage "Axon"
As far as I remember, Chris' (the developer) complaint was that the timing of the MIDI out in AUs is unusably sloppy in all commonly used AU hosts, not that it can't be done.
