running dp7 with pro tools 8 hd?
I've just added Pro tools HD to the studio. So far, it's fine, but I love digital performers tuning features. I've tried melodyne, and autotune, but I hate them all. I love dp for minor pitch adjustments.
Is there anyway to run Dp synced to pro tools so that I can use some of dp's features?
thanks

Would dae mode do what you want? As I understand it that would allow DP to be used as a front end for PT - I've not tried it on my cousin's PT system which is my PT access. I do believe there's a particular order for installation of the programs for this to work - PT installed and updated first and THEN DP installed. If done the other way around DP has to be re-installed after PT is installed.cchord59 wrote:I've just added Pro tools HD to the studio. What is your hardware setup?cchord59 wrote: Is there anyway to run Dp synced to pro tools so that I can use some of dp's features?

I sometimes have DP - using my Traveler - and PT - using my MBox 2 at the same time. They are synced by MIDI clock between the 2 hardware units. I tend to monitor out of the MOTU, and have the MBox connected to CueMix via spdif.
I can either do this on one computer, or my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro together.
Cheers
Stephen

I've tried getting to get dp to run in DAE, but it crashes everytime I enter DAE.n2mpujack wrote:Would dae mode do what you want? Re: running dp7 with pro tools 8 hd?
Did you do the install like I mentioned: install PT & latest updates and then install DP? That's the order. You may want to get a hold of tripit on here as he is running both systems; he might be able to help.cchord59 wrote:

Re: running dp7 with pro tools 8 hd?
I heard something about Avid dropping DAE support. Is that true and how will that affect using DP with PT?

Theoretically that's true but how to account for this from MOTU:Phil O wrote:I heard something about Avid dropping DAE support. Is that true and how will that affect using DP with PT?

http://www.motu.com/products/software/d ... ools.html/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
wherein it's stated that PT & DP will play well with each other?
I know it says for PT8.0.3 but I think this page was written before PT8.0.4
Re: running dp7 with pro tools 8 hd?
That's what I'm thinking. I Installed PT then DP the way I'm supposed to, But I'm wondering if Things got messed up with PT 8.0.4n2mpujack wrote:Theoretically that's true but how to account for this from MOTU:Phil O wrote:I heard something about Avid dropping DAE support. Anybody know when that page was written? PT 8.0.4 dropped on June 8 and DP7.2 rolled out July 16 for reference.williemyers wrote:here's a bit more from MOTU
