Hello All,
I am new to this site but had a motu for awhile. I have a intel dual core processor with a nvidia chipset. I think? And cubase 5. I can put my latency to 64 samples and the asio meter will sit a 20% without anything loaded. So is this normal and or can I make the latency better with a new driver? I am considering switching companies if this is not going to work. Help anyone...?
love/hate motu
2408 mk3...... Anyone?

You haven't told us which driver you're currently using, which OS, etc, so it's a little hard to comment at this stage.
If Cubase is anything like Sonar, if you have plug-ins & soft-synths in your project and the audio engine is running, as it would need to be to play soft-synths live, the sum of those plug-ins & synths would account for the load you're seeing.
If you have no plug-ins or synths installed, I would think the meter should be at zero - it is for me.
I'm running the current 64-bit driver (1.6.9.2) in Vista 64-bit and am very happy with it's latency. I have the 2408 Mk3 & the 24I/O connected via a PCIe-424 card. Even at 64 samples, I see no load unless I add plug-ins/synths.
If you haven't done so in a while, it wouldn't hurt to grab the latest drivers for your OS.

Re: 2408 mk3...... Anyone?
Sorry about that,
I am running a built P.C with win Xp pro. Cubase5, Genelec 1030a and a UAD card. I have the current drivers as well.
I have seem to help the issue by changing the setting of " Match system clock" to 'Internal". The latency is now very low and works well with no POPs or clicks. The only thing is now I can hear all of the crap I produced
. So my next question. what ius the out put rated at, +4 or -10?
I am glad to see others liking MOTU as well. Peace
