Hi guys,
I'm having major problems with putting down convincing beats.
I'm no drummer - more of a singer songwriter with guitar being my primary instrument.
Is there any software that can help me with this? Any really good loop type collection (ya know...verse...intro...break...chorus etc etc)
I've done the reason and loop thing and it works OK but the reality is that the little accents etc are what breath life into any music and while its natural for me to sing or play my axe in this way I just cant get my head around the drum thing.
For someone who seems to be able to produce convincing results from everyone elses music - when it comes to my own I feel as if I'm floundering.
I don't have the time to get together with a band (or maybe I should just make the time!!!)
What to do?
Oh and it needs to be DP friendly!
Thanks,
Iain

Re: Decent drums and beats
Stylus RMX is AWESOME for rhythm/percussion loops.
BFD is good for programming your own real drum samples.
Soundtrack is great for organizing and finding drum beats
good sounding drums are SO hard to find unless you're actually having REAL drums play on the cut.
try using a real drummer....go to www.jorgeningmar.com
he does FTP stuff and hes first call and he's willing to work with budgets.

Re: Decent drums and beats
try checking out drumsforyou.com kinda the same thing as what was said above (the real drummer thing). sometimes it helps to have multiple options for the same thing. i have no idea what the cost is or anything like that but i dont think its rediculous. hope this helps!

Would be willing to provide drum tracks for a song to see if you would like.
